Lasting tile work depends on a stable, level substrate. We remove existing finishes, grind off contaminants, and vacuum away dust. If the floor is out of level, we pour self-levelling compound; on timber we install structural tile underlay with stainless screws and alkaline-resistant mesh tape. Expansion joints are marked, walls are square-checked, and laser levels establish datum lines. Only once the substrate meets industry tolerances do we proceed—ensuring tiles won’t crack, drum, or lift later on.

Wet areas receive a council-approved, two-coat liquid membrane or sheet system. We prime, fillet corners with bond-breakers, and embed reinforcing fabric around penetrations and shower niches. Where falls are required—such as in a level-entry shower—we lay a custom screed to precise gradients of 1:60 toward the waste. After curing, we conduct a flood test (when specified) and issue a PS3 producer statement, giving you and the council complete confidence in the waterproof integrity.

Before any adhesive is mixed, we dry-lay key rows to centre patterns, avoid awkward slivers, and balance grout lines. Using high-performance polymer-modified adhesives, we back-butter large-format tiles and set them with clip levelling systems for a razor-flat finish. Mitred or bull-nose edges are machine-cut on site, niches are tiled with negative falls, and movement joints are formed where required. Throughout installation, lasers maintain alignment while moisture meters monitor substrate dryness.

Once adhesive reaches full cure, we apply stain-resistant, mould-inhibiting grout – epoxy for commercial kitchens or cement-based for living areas—matching colour to tile tone. All internal corners, changes of plane, and junctions with aluminium joinery receive flexible, colour-matched silicone to accommodate thermal movement. The grout is tooled smooth, haze removed, and a final inspection ensures joint consistency and full coverage.

We perform an acid-wash or pH-neutral clean (depending on tile type) to remove residue, then apply penetrating or topical sealers where recommended by the manufacturer. Protective pads are fitted to appliance feet, surplus materials are labelled for future touch-ups, and the site is left vacuum-clean and rubbish-free. During the walk-through we explain maintenance routines, supply warranty documents, and schedule a courtesy check-up ensuring your tiled surface remains pristine for years to come.
